Maintenance Technician

Essential Job Responsibilities:

· Performs general maintenance and repairs of production packing machines, VOLMs, OSSIDs, Clippers, Tex Wrap, graders, conveyors, power sources, lighting, and PITs.

· Conducts inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and systems listed above.

· Does light construction of tables and stands, assists in small building projects.

· Changes facility light bulbs, cooler curtains, and HVAC filters.

· Assists the warehouse staff in the removal of stuck pallets found in Cooler rack locations.

· Completes assigned painting projects, cleans the outside property, Maintenance area, shop, and cages.

· General mechanical, electrical, pneumatic plumbing, welding projects, and other repairs.

· Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Qualifications:

· Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and skills

· Good verbal and written communication skills

· Must pass forklift, scissor lift, and pallet jack training within 90 days of hire/transfer.

Physical Demands:

• Standing 100% of the time, frequently required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms, and able to stoop and kneel.
• The employee must frequently lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 60 pounds repeatedly.
• Frequent reaching and grasping at waist level: occasionally above shoulder or below waist level.

Work Environment:

· This position is based onsite and includes exposure to both outdoor farming and indoor warehouse environments.

· This position requires regular exposure to outdoor elements and varying weather conditions, including high temperatures typical of Florida's climate.

Travel:

· This position requires regular travel, with approximately 50% consisting of local travel between facilities within Florida.
