Job Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will serve as a key member of Poloniex’s executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial and strategic planning functions globally. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will lead financial strategy, capital planning, and corporate governance to support Poloniex’s mission of sustainable growth and global expansion.

This role requires a forward-thinking financial leader with a deep understanding of global fintech and digital asset ecosystems. The CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping corporate direction, ensuring financial integrity, and driving business performance through data-driven insights, risk management, and strategic capital deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Executive Leadership

Develop and execute Poloniex’s global financial strategy to support corporate objectives, innovation, and growth.

Provide strategic financial counsel to the CEO and Board of Directors on corporate planning, funding, and capital allocation.

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling to ensure sustainable profitability and scalability.

Guide the company through complex market, regulatory, and investment landscapes with sound financial judgment.

Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis

Oversee financial reporting, accounting, and compliance processes across all regions.

Establish robust financial systems, controls, and governance frameworks that meet global regulatory standards.

Lead financial analysis initiatives to evaluate performance, optimize efficiency, and identify growth opportunities.

Implement metrics, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) that inform executive decision-making.

Corporate Finance & Capital Management

Manage corporate liquidity, funding, and investment strategies to ensure financial stability and agility.

Oversee capital structure, cash flow management, and treasury operations across jurisdictions.

Lead fundraising, M&A evaluation, and strategic partnership initiatives that support business expansion.

Partner with external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, and financial institutions, to strengthen transparency and trust.

Risk Management & Compliance

Develop and oversee global financial risk management frameworks that safeguard assets and ensure compliance.

Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Operations teams to maintain adherence to all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Anticipate financial risks associated with market volatility, currency fluctuations, and evolving digital asset regulations.

Promote an ethical, disciplined financial culture with a focus on accountability and resilience.

Operational & Strategic Alignment

Partner with Technology, Product, and Operations teams to align financial strategy with corporate innovation and market initiatives.

Support data-driven decision-making by integrating finance insights into organizational planning and resource allocation.

Enhance automation and digital transformation within financial systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Ensure scalability and operational alignment in support of global expansion initiatives.

Leadership & Organizational Development

Build and lead a high-performing global finance organization.

Mentor senior finance leaders and foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Drive talent development, succession planning, and leadership alignment across finance teams.

Serve as a visible and trusted leader across the organization, promoting cross-departmental cooperation and alignment.

Qualifications

20 years of progressive experience in finance, strategy, or executive leadership roles, ideally within fintech, digital assets, or financial services.

Proven track record in corporate finance, strategic planning, and capital management.

Deep understanding of blockchain ecosystems, trading platforms, and global financial operations.

Strong technical expertise in accounting, financial analysis, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.

Demonstrated ability to influence at the board and executive level through strategic and analytical insight.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA, CPA, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
