Position Summary
Adroit Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Director / Staffing Coordinator to oversee HR operations and staffing functions within our skilled nursing facility. This dual-role position is essential to maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting employee relations, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels to deliver high-quality resident care.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Functions:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and HR-related matters
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including DOH, DOL, and Homeland Security/Immigration
Conduct background checks and manage onboarding processes
Maintain HR/Payroll systems and manage the Applicant Tracking System
Oversee employee terminations and performance review processes
Monitor employee performance, attendance, and address disciplinary matters
Manage recruitment efforts, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and hiring
Prepare and maintain employee files, ensuring all required documentation is complete
Assist Regional HR Director with special projects and research initiatives
Promote a positive workplace culture and employee morale
Participate in quarterly QA meetings and report employee-related concerns to Administration
Staffing & Scheduling Functions:
Monitor facility staffing needs and communicate shortages to leadership
Develop and manage monthly nursing schedules to ensure proper coverage
Coordinate staffing adjustments with the Director of Nursing (DON)
Track attendance, tardiness, and absenteeism; report concerns to DON
Maintain records of employee certifications and licenses
Assist employees with scheduling, timecards, and leave requests
Ensure new hires are prepared for orientation (IDs, timecards, schedules)
Respond to staffing calls and coordinate coverage as needed
Collaborate with nursing leadership to resolve staffing challenges
Maintain up-to-date contact lists for resident care staff
Prepare reports and recommendations regarding staffing issues
Payroll:
Process weekly payroll for Nursing and Administrative departments
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of staffing experience required
Nursing home experience preferred
Knowledge of SBV required
Familiarity with HR systems, payroll platforms, and scheduling software
Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance standards
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Professional demeanor with strong organizational skills
