Position: Human Resources Director / Staffing Coordinator
Location: Rahway, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000

Position Summary

Adroit Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Human Resources Director / Staffing Coordinator to oversee HR operations and staffing functions within our skilled nursing facility. This dual-role position is essential to maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting employee relations, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels to deliver high-quality resident care.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Functions:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions and HR-related matters

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including DOH, DOL, and Homeland Security/Immigration

  • Conduct background checks and manage onboarding processes

  • Maintain HR/Payroll systems and manage the Applicant Tracking System

  • Oversee employee terminations and performance review processes

  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, and address disciplinary matters

  • Manage recruitment efforts, including job postings, scheduling interviews, and hiring

  • Prepare and maintain employee files, ensuring all required documentation is complete

  • Assist Regional HR Director with special projects and research initiatives

  • Promote a positive workplace culture and employee morale

  • Participate in quarterly QA meetings and report employee-related concerns to Administration

Staffing & Scheduling Functions:

  • Monitor facility staffing needs and communicate shortages to leadership

  • Develop and manage monthly nursing schedules to ensure proper coverage

  • Coordinate staffing adjustments with the Director of Nursing (DON)

  • Track attendance, tardiness, and absenteeism; report concerns to DON

  • Maintain records of employee certifications and licenses

  • Assist employees with scheduling, timecards, and leave requests

  • Ensure new hires are prepared for orientation (IDs, timecards, schedules)

  • Respond to staffing calls and coordinate coverage as needed

  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to resolve staffing challenges

  • Maintain up-to-date contact lists for resident care staff

  • Prepare reports and recommendations regarding staffing issues

Payroll:

  • Process weekly payroll for Nursing and Administrative departments

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of staffing experience required

  • Nursing home experience preferred

  • Knowledge of SBV required

  • Familiarity with HR systems, payroll platforms, and scheduling software

  • Strong understanding of employment laws, regulations, and compliance standards

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

  • Professional demeanor with strong organizational skills
