Salary: $160,000–$170,000 per year, based on experience

Adroit Care Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and drive excellence in resident care.

As the Director of Nursing, you will provide overall leadership and direction for nursing services throughout the facility. You will work closely with the Administrator, Medical Director, department leaders, and interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality resident care, strong clinical outcomes, regulatory compliance, and ongoing survey readiness.

• Lead and oversee all nursing operations and clinical services.

• Ensure compliance with CMS, NJ Department of Health (NJDOH), and other applicable regulatory requirements.

• Maintain continuous survey readiness and lead the nursing department through regulatory surveys.

• Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing nursing staff.

• Establish and maintain clinical standards, competencies, and education programs.

• Lead and participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.

• Oversee infection prevention and control practices.

• Monitor staffing levels, scheduling, productivity, and labor management.

• Review clinical indicators and implement strategies to improve resident outcomes.

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to enhance resident satisfaction and quality of care.

• Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and resident-centered care.

• Serve as a visible, approachable, and supportive clinical leader for residents, families, and staff.

• Current, active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

• BSN preferred; ADN candidates with strong leadership experience will be considered.

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or similar leadership role in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care.

• Proven experience with regulatory compliance and state surveys.

• Strong clinical judgment and knowledge of long-term care best practices.

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, develop, and retain high-performing clinical teams.
