Children come to Adriel from an unsafe situation, to foster care to success.
As the needs of children and families have changed, Adriel has adapted and expanded its services to meet them. Today, Adriel provides foster care, counseling, and independent living services for children, kinship and adoption home study services for families, and family preservation services to help children and families stay together.
Summary
In this position, you will provide supervised visitation, mentoring/coaching and/or education services to assigned families.
Responsibilities
When working with families through Family Coaching you will do the following:
- Upon receipt of a family referral, talk with appropriate professionals who have knowledge of the family needs, if applicable
- Make initial contact with assigned family and making recommendations for needed services
- Attend Triage Team meetings and describe recommend services to treatment team
- Provide one or more of the following services to the family: In-home visits, linking the family with others parents with similar goals and/or struggles, mentoring, planned activities for the youth and/or caregiver (in-home or out-of-home), structured activities to improve family functioning.
- Document all services provided such as: Date of the meeting or interaction, Amount of time, People in attendance and Summary of the meeting or interaction.
- Submit documentation to Adriel Family Preservation Manager within two business days of the meeting or interaction.
- Submit a summary of services and recommendation for termination or continuation of services every 90 days
When working with families through Supervised Visitation you will do the following:
- Offer supervision services at a neutral site. This may be an Adriel office, a County DJFS office or a community site.
- Provide supervision services based on the needs of the family.
- Complete required documentation including: visitation notes that summarize the visit, the interactions between parent (s) and child(ren), strengths and areas for development of the parents, and other observations along with other documentation as assigned.
Requirements
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Ability to relate well with co-workers and other agency personnel.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbally and in written form.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to maintain objectivity, fairness, and consistency.
- Assertive, flexible, team-oriented, and able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Have knowledge and operational knowledge of technology, including Google.
- Empathy for the goals and practices of a faith based agency serving families and children.
- Have sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of Adriel’s youth and families.
- Ability and willingness to travel to assigned family(s).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.63 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 19 per week
