Our organization is currently seeking a Midmarket Sales Engineer.
A successful candidate will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required
- Collaborate with the Midmarket AE to understand customer needs through the FMC conduit.
- Work directly with FMC Upfit Engineers to validate technical feasibility, platform constraints, and solution options.
- Collaborate with internal engineering to confirm that recommended solutions meet design standards, safety considerations, and production feasibility.
- Develop accurate, validated upfit solutions aligned with timing, channel, and installation requirements.
- Produce high-quality quotes that meet midmarket turnaround expectations.
- Identify technical risks early, communicate them clearly, and provide alternative solutions when needed.
- Support channel recommendations through technical evaluation.
- Partner with distributors, RSMs, and DSAs to understand installation feasibility and field realities.
- Maintain clear communication with Engineering, Operations, Road Redi, Install Coordination, Supply Chain, and Pricing.
- Support customer transitions to A-level Fleet support when technical complexity increases.
- Ability to challenge effectively & communicate confidently

- Ability to proactively identify and communicate risk
- Ability to apply PDCA to technical solution development
- Ability to create and follow a structured plan
- Strong business acumen and understanding of installation flows
- Ability to utilize Adrian Steel systems and processes accurately
- BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred; combination of education and experience considered
- 3-7 years of experience in product engineering, design, technical sales, or upfit engineering
- Experience collaborating with FMC upfit engineering teams preferred
- Proficiency in CAD/SolidWorks preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Lean Manufacturing preferred
- Must meet and maintain all requirements to be a “Driver” as defined in Adrian Steel Fleet Corporate Driving Policy
