We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Optometric Technician to join our eye care team. In this role, you will be performing preliminary vision tests and diagnostic screenings to prepare them for their examination with the doctor. Key Responsibilities
- Patient Pre-Testing and Diagnostic Imaging: Conduct preliminary testing and imaging using specialized equipment.
- Patient History: Accurately document patient medical histories, current medications, and chief complaints in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Contact Lens Instruction: Teach new wearers how to properly insert, remove, and care for their contact lenses.
- Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling appointments, verifying insurance benefits, and maintaining a clean, sterilized clinical environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience: 1–2 years of experience in an optometry or ophthalmology setting is a plus but not required.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong customer service skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to learn and operate complex diagnostic machinery and medical software.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.
- Manual dexterity for handling delicate instruments and eyewear.
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
