Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Automotive Parts Manager to oversee the procurement, inventory, and distribution of automotive parts within our dealership or service center. The ideal candidate will possess strong supply chain management skills, automotive diagnostics knowledge, and proficiency with various ERP and order management systems. This role is vital in ensuring efficient operations, optimal inventory levels, and excellent customer service. The Automotive Parts Manager will lead a team responsible for sourcing OEM parts, managing vendor relationships, and coordinating logistics to support automotive repair and service departments.

Duties

  • Manage the entire supply chain process for automotive parts, including sourcing, procurement, and inventory control.
  • Oversee supplier management to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with OEMs and other vendors.
  • Utilize ERP systems, AS400, CMMS, and other order management tools to track inventory levels, process orders, and maintain accurate data entry.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage, shipping & receiving, and equipment repair.
  • Implement demand planning strategies to forecast parts needs based on service schedules and customer demand.
  • Supervise inventory management activities to minimize excess stock while avoiding shortages.
  • Lead procurement management efforts to source quality parts efficiently while controlling costs.
  • Collaborate with automotive service teams to ensure timely availability of parts for repairs and maintenance.
  • Maintain knowledge of automotive diagnostics, HVAC systems, auto body repair, and mechanical knowledge to support technical decision-making.
  • Manage logistics related to shipping & receiving operations and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Utilize negotiation skills to establish favorable agreements with suppliers and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies and industry standards related to inventory control and customer service.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive industry or dealership environment.
  • Strong supplier management skills with a track record of successful negotiation and sourcing.
  • Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, OEM parts specifications, auto body repair, HVAC systems, and mechanical repair processes.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400 or similar order management software; experience with CMMS is a plus.
  • Warehouse experience including shipping & receiving procedures; forklift certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems (including Inventory control), demand planning, procurement management, purchasing, sourcing strategies, and logistics coordination.
  • Experience working with dealership environments or automotive service departments is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage data entry accurately while maintaining detailed records of inventory transactions.
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with strong negotiation abilities to build vendor relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
