About the Role:
As a Calibration Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement instruments and equipment used across various departments. Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Metrology, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience in calibration of industrial or laboratory instruments.
- Strong knowledge of calibration standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540.
- Familiarity with calibration equipment, measurement techniques, and data analysis.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Calibration Technician (e.g., from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies - NICET).
- Experience with computerized calibration management systems (CMMS).
- Background in quality management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Advanced training in metrology or instrumentation.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as aerospace, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and non-routine calibration of a wide range of instruments and equipment according to established standards and procedures.
- Develop and update calibration documentation, including procedures, reports, and certificates to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot calibration issues, recommending corrective actions or equipment repairs as necessary.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to support audits, inspections, and validation activities.
- Maintain calibration equipment and tools, ensuring they are properly calibrated and in good working condition.
- Train and provide technical guidance to staff on calibration best practices and equipment handling.
- Monitor calibration schedules and maintain accurate records to ensure timely completion of all calibration activities.
