Receptionist – Adoption First Animal Rescue
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, some weekends are required. Will discuss more during the interview.
Pay: $13–$15 per hour (based on experience)
Adoption First Animal Rescue is looking for a friendly, organized, and reliable Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in helping both our animal rescue and veterinary clinic operate smoothly while providing excellent service to adopters, fosters, volunteers, and community members.

Job Duties
- Provide high-quality customer service to visitors, adopters, fosters, and volunteers
- Answer the main phone line for both the rescue and veterinary clinic and assist callers or transfer calls to the appropriate department
- Greet customers as they enter the building
- Direct fosters and volunteers to the check-in area and notify staff when assistance is needed
- Show potential volunteers where they can complete applications to join our team
- Scan documents and assist with general administrative tasks
- Email records and documents for both the rescue and veterinary clinic as needed
- Manage the info@adoptionfirstanimalrescue.com email inbox
- Respond to Facebook messages for the rescue
- Process payments for the storefront
- Ensure foster movements are properly recorded when animals enter or leave the building
- Assist pet pantry customers
- Learn about the rescue and clinic operations to better assist the public
- Perform additional administrative tasks as needed
- Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping hallway, office, and breakroom floors in the evening
Ideal Candidate
- Friendly and professional with strong customer service skills
- Comfortable answering phones and assisting the public
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable learning new systems and procedures
- Passion for animal welfare is a plus
