Teacher / Academic Coordinator – Adolescent Residential Treatment (Ages 12–17)
Location: Concord, CA
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Full-Time)
About the Role
We are seeking a Teacher / Academic Coordinator to support adolescents (ages 12–17) in a residential treatment setting. This role blends classroom instruction, academic planning, and individualized student support for clients navigating mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.
You’ll play a key role in helping students stay academically engaged while supporting their overall treatment journey in a structured, weekday schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom instruction in a small, structured setting
- Develop and implement individualized academic plans based on student needs
- Track and document academic progress and daily performance
- Collaborate with clinical, medical, and residential teams to support student success
- Support students with behavioral and emotional regulation in the classroom
- Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment
- Communicate with schools, districts, and families as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in teaching, tutoring, or academic support (middle/high school preferred)
- Strong ability to work with adolescents in a behavioral health setting
- Comfortable managing classroom behavior and emotional dynamics
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills
- Ability to balance structure with empathy and flexibility

- Background in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or related field
- Experience in residential treatment, mental health, or therapeutic settings
- Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, or alternative education models
