Adolescent Growth is a residential treatment center serving teens ages 12 to 17, and we’re looking for a Classroom Instructor / Academic Coordinator who thrives in small-group learning environments and enjoys making a real difference in the lives of young people.At our residential treatment facility in Concord CA, you’ll guide students through credit recovery, support their academic goals during treatment, and help them rebuild confidence in the classroom. Your ImpactTeach and support adolescents in a small, structured classroom, using creative, age-appropriate approaches that keep students engaged.Complete individualized academic treatment plans within 72 hours of intake.Partner with home and charter schools to align curriculum, track academic progress, and ensure smooth credit transfer.Assess each student’s learning level and adapt lessons to meet their academic needs, emotional state, and learning style.Prepare weekly progress reports and communicate regularly with parents, school partners, and treatment teams.Maintain a warm, organized classroom that promotes focus, safety, and emotional stability.Participate in treatment team meetings to help integrate academics into each student’s overall care plan.Coordinate testing, assignments, and academic expectations with external schools while keeping students on track. What You BringBachelor’s degree required, preferably in Education or a related field.Teaching credential or CBEST strongly preferred.Experience teaching or tutoring adolescents, especially in behavioral health, special education, or credit recovery settings.Strong classroom management, communication, and crisis-intervention skills.Patience, compassion, and the ability to maintain a calm presence during challenging moments.Familiarity with IEPs, special education documentation, or individualized learning plans is a plus.
