OVERVIEW
Adventure-based youth development facilitator traveling to schools throughout New Hampshire's North Country, leading both the WYLD and YLTA programs. This role combines outdoor adventure facilitation, student mentorship, and program coordination — working 1–2 schools per day during and after school hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate WYLD & YLTA programming at North Country schools Plan and lead outdoor adventure activities rain or shine
Manage gear, van transport, and trailer operation from Basecamp
Lead check-in, mindfulness, experiential activity, debrief & journaling
Communicate with teachers, administrators, students & families Drop students off at school or home following programming
ACTIVITIES INCLUDE
Hiking & backpacking Mountain & fat tire biking Kayaking & canoeing Snowshoeing & XC skiing Fly fishing & archery
Fire building & backcountry cooking
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in Adventure Education, Outdoor Leadership, or related field
Adventure field teaching experience at instructor-trainer level 1–3 years in climbing, backpacking, Nordic skiing & challenge course
Wilderness First Responder (WFR), CPR & Lifeguard certifications
Risk management expertise
Clean driver's record; ability to tow a trailer
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Effective communicator with students, staff & administrators Proficiency in oral and written communication
Knowledge of outdoor adventure field and industry Understanding of leadership theory & youth development.
