Adolescent Consultation Services (ACS), a nonprofit mental health agency serving the Middlesex County Juvenile Courts of Massachusetts, is seeking experienced applicants for a full-time (40 hours/week) mental health clinician position. ACS provides evaluation, consultation, and treatment services to the Juvenile Courts in Cambridge, Framingham, Lowell, and Waltham.

Dually funded by a state contract and privately raised revenue, all ACS services are provided at no cost to clients or third-party insurers, minimizing administrative responsibilities and allowing clinicians to focus their time and expertise on delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to youth and families.

Position Overview

This exciting new position has been created to help broaden the impact of our countywide services. Based in Cambridge, the ideal candidate will be an experienced clinician who is passionate about and skilled in providing individual and group mental health treatment to adolescents. This individual will also have experience and interest in facilitating psychoeducational groups for parents and caregivers of adolescents, as they will be instrumental in helping ACS launch its first psychoeducational Parent/Caregiver group.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide evidence-based individual and group counseling to court-involved and at-risk youth and their families.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups for adolescents, demonstrating strong group leadership and clinical management skills.
  • In collaboration with ACS leadership, develop, adapt, and implement a structured caregiver group curriculum addressing child and adolescent development, the underlying causes of challenging behaviors, identifying and responding to safety concerns, and practical, evidence-informed strategies for supporting adolescents.
  • Conduct clinical intakes, treatment planning, and ongoing progress monitoring.
  • Deliver services both in-person and via telehealth platforms.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals, including court personnel, schools, and community providers.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically sound documentation in accordance with agency standards and data platforms.
  • Participate in supervision, consultation, and team-based care planning.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related mental health field.
  • Independent licensure to provide mental health services in Massachusetts (LICSW, LMHC).
  • Extensive experience facilitating clinical group counseling, particularly with adolescents and parents/caregivers.
  • Experience working with court-involved, high-risk, or system-involved youth and families.
  • Strong clinical judgment, engagement skills, and ability to manage complex group dynamics.
  • Comfort providing services both in-person and via telehealth platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience developing psychoeducational or therapeutic curriculum for caregiver groups.
  • Trauma-informed, systems-based, and strengths-focused clinical orientation.
  • Strong collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish, English/Portuguese.
  • Ability to engage diverse populations with cultural humility and responsiveness.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting salary range $75,000 - $85,000 annually (compensation is based on education, related work experience, licensure status, and other qualifications).
