Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Taproom Manager to lead our taproom team and ensure an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for craft beer, a strong background in customer service, and the ability to create a welcoming environment that fosters community and customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Taproom Operations:
- Oversee daily taproom operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Manage inventory, including receiving and maintaining accurate stock levels of beer, merchandise, and supplies.
- Ensure all taproom equipment is well-maintained and operational.
- Coordinate with brewers and production staff to ensure a consistent and fresh beer lineup.
- Customer Service:
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and resolving any issues that arise.
- Cultivate a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all patrons, ensuring a positive experience.
- Educate customers on the brewery’s offerings, including beer styles, brewing processes, and brand history.
- Staff Management:
- Train and supervise taproom staff.
- Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Sales & Marketing:
- Develop and implement strategies to increase taproom sales and customer traffic.
- Plan and execute events, promotions, and special releases to attract and retain customers.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create content for social media, newsletters, and other promotional channels.
- Monitor sales metrics and adjust strategies as needed to meet revenue goals.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to alcohol service and food safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for guests and staff, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Manage cash handling procedures and ensure financial accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in hospitality or food & beverage management, preferably in a taproom, brewery, or bar setting.
- Strong knowledge of craft beer, including different styles and brewing processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Certification in Cicerone, TIPS, or similar alcohol service training is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move kegs.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as pouring beer, reaching, and bending.
