Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Senior VBA Developer with deep T-SQL expertise and strong experience reading and writing MS Access 2003/VBA code. This role focuses on reverse engineering and stabilizing the legacy SnapShot application, designing modern SQL-centric data flows, and implementing integrations between the existing on-prem MS Access front end and SQL Server-based ERP with the Infor system. The immediate priority is delivering the first integration, followed by a broader ERP/database modernization initiative, with an S/4 migration planned in subsequent phases.
Key Responsibilities
Reverse engineer, analyze, and author MS Access 2003/VBA code, including untangling approximately 100k lines of legacy logic to document workflows and stabilize critical functionality
Design and implement SQL Server schemas (approximately 500 fields, including ~100 Q&A fields flowing into SnapShot) to support modernized processing
Build and maintain robust ETL and data ingestion pipelines, including parsing output files and loading data into SQL databases with automated validation and reconciliation
Design and implement integrations with Infor, including interfaces, APIs, bridge tables, and orchestrations to exchange configuration and estimator data between Access/SQL and the Infor ecosystem
Ensure on-prem performance and reliability through indexing, query tuning, statistics management, isolation levels, and transactional integrity
Establish coding standards, version control, and technical documentation for both legacy and modern components, and implement unit and integration test frameworks
Collaborate with business stakeholders (estimators, dealers) to translate legacy business rules into modern data structures and testable specifications
Prepare for the S/4 migration by identifying dependencies, defining cutover strategies, and developing rollback and safety plans
Enforce secure handling of ERP data, including authentication, role-based access, auditing, and planning for multi-year on-prem operations prior to any cloud migration
