Associate’s Degree or Technical/Trade School.
Minimum 5 years’ experience operating and maintaining production equipment.
Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in a high-volume production environment.
Proven proficiency with insertion and bindery equipment.
Electronic and electric circuit experience required; electrical and electronics repair a plus.
Knowledge and experience with reporting tools such as Jet/IQ.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong leadership and team management skills, including performance reviews and coaching.
Job Summary
The Production Equipment Support Supervisor (Day Shift) provides direction and mechanical support to production mechanics, ensuring continuous workflow and timely completion of equipment repairs. The role involves monitoring preventive maintenance, maintaining parts inventory, coaching technicians, and managing departmental administrative tasks. This position reports to senior management and requires effective communication, leadership, and hands-on technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain parts inventory for all equipment, including vendor selection and cost tracking.
Monitor preventive maintenance schedules and ensure timely completion.
Stay updated on new technology and equipment used in technical support and production operations.
Fill in for the Department Manager and assume all management responsibilities as needed.
Meet or exceed Cost Per Unit targets, including labor costs, overtime, and inventory control.
Monitor and improve machine efficiency and throughput.
Coach, counsel, motivate, develop, and instruct all direct-report technicians.
Ensure administrative work is completed accurately and departmental procedures are followed.
Maintain records pertaining to department personnel.
Span of control: approximately 15-20 direct reports and all production equipment used by technical support and production operations.
Communicate daily with senior management on strategic work scheduling and operational updates.
Monitor daily reports on throughput and equipment downtime, providing feedback to personnel.
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Availability as needed until 5:00 PM, as well as weekends and holidays based on production volume

Leadership and team development experience.
Knowledge of electronic/electric circuits and bindery/insertion equipment.
