We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fleet Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, automotive diagnostics tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Repair and replace components such as transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, shocks & struts, air brakes, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct welding, fabrication, tire service, and assembly work to repair or modify equipment as needed.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools efficiently for repairs and maintenance tasks while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed on fleet vehicles and machinery.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform troubleshooting on industrial equipment including farm machinery and power tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician with a focus on heavy equipment or automotive repair.
- Dealership experience is highly desirable for understanding manufacturer-specific systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components.
- Skilled in using schematics for diagnostics and repairs; familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools is essential.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to work with power tools safely.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
