Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support with dental instruments and materials.
- Take and develop dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures to promote long-term dental health.
- Handle administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries, and supporting the dental receptionist with general clinic operations.
- Maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times while ensuring the clinic remains compliant with healthcare infection prevention and control standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support across diverse specialties like oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining strict adherence to infection control protocols.
