What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Specialist position at Admiral Merchants Motor Freight?
Admiral Merchants is a long-standing company based in downtown Minneapolis that offers truckload and LTL service, with a variety of specialized equipment available for shipper loading.
We are currently looking for an individual to join our Claims/Safety Department to assure that all cargo and liability claims are handled in a manner that minimizes loss to the company and insures compliance to company policies and all DOT regulations.
This person will regularly coordinate activities on Cargo and Auto Liability claims. responsible for all aspects of the handling of Cargo claims for the company. When assigned or in the absence of the Director of Claims Management, this person is also responsible for coordinating claim activities with respective insurance companies, and outside legal counsel. In addition, shared rotation of the after-hours accident cell phone.
Will be responsible for setting up and maintaining all aspects of driver qualification files and verifications. Along with working with the safety department on safety initiatives.
This position requires a high level of detail, organization and communication. A transportation background, claims or legal is not required but preferred.
