Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire extinguishers, ensuring compliance with local codes and safety standards.
- Service, recharge, and refill fire extinguishers using appropriate hand tools and power tools to meet operational requirements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings related to fire suppression systems.
- Perform construction inspection tasks for new or existing fire protection systems, including fire sprinkler fitting and system installation.
- Test and troubleshoot fire alarm systems, sensors, low voltage wiring, and electrical components to ensure proper functionality.
- Maintain detailed service reports, inspection logs, and compliance documentation accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with construction teams or field service crews to install or upgrade fire suppression equipment while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
Skills
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to fire protection systems.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in system design and construction inspection.
- Proficiency with CAD software for system layout planning and modifications.
- Familiarity with construction processes as they relate to fire protection system installation or upgrades.
- Field service experience working directly on fire suppression or alarm systems in various environments.
- Knowledge of NEC standards governing electrical work related to fire alarm systems and low voltage wiring.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding system design or sales opportunities related to alarm or fire alarm sales.
