Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Handyman/Carpenter to join team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks across residential properties. Your expertise will ensure that building interiors, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and other facilities equipment operate smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on building interior components, including walls, ceilings, flooring, doors, and cabinetry using carpentry and hand tools.
- Perform electrical work such as wiring, troubleshooting electrical equipment, replacing fixtures, and reading schematics to ensure electrical systems are safe and operational.
- Maintain plumbing systems by repairing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing fixtures, and performing routine plumbing system inspections.
- Service HVAC systems by diagnosing issues, replacing parts, performing routine maintenance, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues effectively.
- Conduct welding tasks when necessary for structural repairs or fabrication projects.
- Perform painting tasks including preparation of surfaces and applying residential or facilities maintenance paint to enhance building aesthetics.
- Use facilities management software such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders and track maintenance activities.
- Supervise or assist with projects requiring leadership skills while ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients or team members regarding repair status or project timelines.
Experience
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) within residential or manufacturing environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and electrical equipment repair techniques.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring and mechanical systems; ability to interpret technical diagrams accurately.
- Experience with HVAC system repair including troubleshooting thermostats, compressors, fans, filters, and ductwork.
- Skilled in plumbing system maintenance including pipe repairs, fixture replacements, leak detection, and drain cleaning.
- Knowledge of welding techniques for structural or fabrication repairs; certification is a plus.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a maintenance setting is advantageous.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical circuits effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate tasks efficiently across teams or with clients.
