Position: Student Activities Administrator
Reports to: Site Principal - High School
Supervises: TBD
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for an Oklahoma teaching certificate.
- Previous experience as a classroom teacher required.
- Hold or be eligible for Secondary Principal Certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and the community.
- Experience in student activities, event coordination, or student leadership programs preferred.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and timelines in a dynamic school environment.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: To promote a positive, engaging school culture by leading student activities and programs, developing student leadership, and supporting meaningful involvement. Serves as a key facilitator of campus culture at Jenks High School, collaborating with students, staff, and administrators to design and implement high-quality experiences while shaping how leadership, clubs, and organizations enhance the overall student experience.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Student Leadership & Culture Development
- Empower students to design, plan, and implement school-wide activities and events through authentic leadership experiences.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and student-centered school culture aligned with Jenks Public Schools’ mission and Portrait of a Graduate attributes.
- Foster student voice, ownership, and engagement in school traditions and experiences.
Student Activities & Events Coordination
- Oversee the planning and execution of key central campus (9th-12th grades) events such as assemblies, all Homecoming activities, Prom, Commencement, senior celebrations, staff appreciation events, and other school-wide traditions.
- Collaborate with student organizations to support their involvement in school-wide events while ensuring alignment, quality, and consistency.
- Establish and maintain systems, timelines, and structures to ensure effective planning and execution of events.
- Support planning for district events such as the Back to School Rally.
Communication & Promotion of Activities
- Promote student activities and events through multiple communication platforms, including Canvas, Minga, social media, and other school-based platforms.
- Ensure clear, consistent, and engaging communication to maximize participation.
Collaboration & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for student activity coordination.
- Collaborate with sponsors of student organizations to support planning, communication, and execution of activities and events.
- Work collaboratively with Athletics and the Director of Performing Arts to ensure coordination of activity contracts, travel consents, and event alignment.
- Promote consistency and shared expectations across student activities while maintaining positive and productive relationships with sponsors and staff.
Student Organizations & Activity Systems
- Maintain and manage records for school-sponsored student organizations, including rosters, constitutions, and by-laws.
- Provide oversight for Independent Student Organized Groups (ISOGs), including application processes, documentation, and compliance with district guidelines.
- Support the development of clear systems and expectations for student groups to ensure equitable access, accountability, and sustainability.
- Assist student organizations and sponsors in navigating district procedures related to fundraising, event planning, and student participation.
- Manage activity-related logistics, including contracts, travel documentation, financial processes, and student activity funds.
- Ensure responsible oversight of student activity funds in accordance with district policies.
- Ensure all activities comply with school, district, and state guidelines.
Event Supervision
- Attend and supervise school activities and events, including those occurring outside of the regular school day, as part of extra duty responsibilities.
- Support the safe, orderly, and positive execution of student events.
Compliance and General Responsibilities:
- Follows the procedures, practices, and guidelines outlined by the school, district, state, and federal laws intended to keep students healthy and safe.
- Exhibits consistent reliability-based patterns of behavior (punctuality, dependability, complying with timelines and deadlines).
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Eleven (11) months a year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Benefits as established by Board policy.
FLSA Qualification: Exempt
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Jenks Public Schools Board of Education’s policy on Staff Evaluation (2.20) and by Oklahoma State Law.
