Position Summary:
The Part-Time Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Transportation Coordinator and assists in the efficient operation of the transportation department. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and technology skills, along with the ability to interact professionally with staff, students, and the public.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus.
- Familiarity with transportation routing software is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in using office technology and software applications.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (copiers, phones, computers, etc.).
- Strong typing and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage telephone calls and greet visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Must possess the medical and physical capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Required criminal history background check.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive, screen, and route incoming calls and correspondence.
- Provide support to schools regarding transportation-related issues.
- Perform general office duties including photocopying, typing, filing, and document management.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date filing system.
- Operate all business machines and technology necessary for office operations.
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain ethical standards in accordance with district policies and legal requirements.
- Assist in maintaining the student transportation routing program.
- Investigate and respond to transportation-related complaints.
- Deliver documents to/from the County Office of Education as needed.
- Prepare and reproduce student bus information, reports, forms, and related materials.
- Perform additional tasks to support the efficient operation of the transportation office.
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet departmental needs.
- Adhere to and support goals, objectives, policies, and procedures approved by the Board of Education.
- Enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies as required.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
