Qualifications:
- Letter of Eligibility for District Superintendent or Letter of Eligibility for Assistant District Superintendent.
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Thorough understanding of federal and state education laws, including compliance and implementation; ability to ensure equitable access to high-quality programs and services for all students; and strong expertise in curriculum development and effective instructional practices.
- Master's degree required, Doctorate preferred
- Minimum of five years of administrative experience
- Educational technology expertise
- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct the planning, development, implementation, and continuous revision of all K-12 curriculum, ensuring all curricula are fully aligned with the Pennsylvania Academic Standards.
- Provide leadership in the research and integration of evidence-based instructional strategies and best practices (e.g., blended learning, project-based learning, differentiated instruction).
- Oversee the effective use of educational technology as an instructional tool.
- Coordinate the administration, analysis, and reporting of all district, state, and national assessments.
- Utilize data to drive instructional decisions, inform curriculum changes, and monitor student growth and achievement gaps.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive professional development program that is aligned with the District's Comprehensive Plan.
- Oversee the district's compliance with PA Act 48 continuing professional education requirements.
- Supervise and evaluate assigned administrative personnel.
- Assist the Superintendent in the selection, placement, and evaluation of instructional staff.
- Lead the development and monitoring of the educational components of the District's continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent on the development of curriculum and instruction Board policies and administrative regulations.
- Communicates proposed curriculum changes and staff development programming objectives, evaluations, and needs to the Administrative Council, staff, the Superintendent, the Board, and general public.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of federal and state grant programs related to instruction (e.g., Titles I, II, III, and IV), ensuring regulatory compliance including writing proposals, monitoring expenditures, and submission of final expenditure reports and evaluations.
- Develop and manage the Curriculum and Instruction budget, including resource allocation for materials, technology, and professional learning.
- Coordinate the Child Study Team initiatives in collaboration with the Director of Student Services.
- Manage the Instructional Advisory Committee (IAC) and Professional Development Committee
- Initiate opportunities for students and staff with the business community and higher education, including, but not limited to, internship and dual enrollment programs.
- Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent
Terms of Employment: 12 Month
Salary and Work Year : To be established by the Board of School Directors.
