ADM High School is seeking a passionate and student-centered Success Teacher to support high school students identified as at-risk of not graduating. This position focuses on building strong relationships, delivering engaging instruction, and providing targeted academic and behavioral support to help students achieve success in school and beyond. The ideal candidate holds a math or science endorsement and has experience working with at-risk or alternative education populations.
ADM is a high-performing district serving approximately 680 students in grades 912. A new high school is currently under construction, with an anticipated opening of Fall 2027, and will provide a modern, flexible learning environment designed to support collaboration, innovation, and student-centered instruction. The facility will feature beautiful classrooms, expanded career and technical education spaces, and areas that promote both academic achievement and student well-being. This new space will position ADM to meet the evolving needs of students while preparing them for success beyond high school.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction in math and/or science aligned to state standards, or other subject areas students need assistance with.
- Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support engagement and attendance
- Monitor student progress and use data to guide instruction and interventions
- Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and support staff to address academic and social-emotional needs
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and interventions
- Support credit recovery and alternative pathways to graduation
- Foster a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Iowa teaching license with math or science endorsement preferred
- Preferred: Experience working with at-risk, alternative, or credit-recovery students
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction and utilize flexible teaching strategies
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and restorative approaches (preferred)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
