Position Overview
As a Clinical Foot Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in routine nail care and preventive foot maintenance for our patients. You will work closely alongside our podiatrists and medical assistants to provide safe, detailed care—particularly for higher-risk patient populations such as seniors, individuals with diabetes, and those with mobility challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine & Complex Nail Care: Safely trim, shape, thin, and carefully file thick, dystrophic, or difficult toenails using specialized clinical instruments.
- Clinical Observation & Triage: Closely examine feet during care to recognize early warning signs (e.g., skin breakdown, signs of infection, circulatory changes) that require formal evaluation by a podiatrist.
- Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate, timely charting of services provided and communicate effectively with attending physicians, medical assistants, and administrative staff.
- Team Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with our clinical team to ensure seamless patient flow, a high standard of hygiene, and an excellent patient experience.
- Sanitization: Maintain a clean, sterile workspace adhering to all clinical infection control standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Credentials (One of the following):
- Active Florida Cosmetology or Nail Technician License (with specialized nail/pedicure training)
- Other applicable Florida professional medical or clinical care credentials
Experience & Skills:
- Specialized Patient Care: Strong experience working with elderly, diabetic, neuropathic, or mobility-limited patients is strongly preferred.
- Clinical Comfort: Comfortable working in a fast-paced medical office alongside podiatric physicians and clinical staff.
- Precision & Empathy: Exceptional attention to detail, gentle hand skills, patience, and a warm, empathetic bed side manner.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for patient instruction and medical chart notes.
