Adler Pelzer Group - a growing global Tier 1 supplier of Acoustic and Thermal Soft Trim products to the automotive industry is seeking for a strong and motivated individual to fill the position of Materials Planner at the Manufacturing Facility in Oregon, Ohio.
- The Materials Planner is responsible for the efficient and effective running of the logistics function including managing Material Release Planning (MRP), managing material & logistics of suppliers and updating of the current ERP system in use.
Responsibilities of the Material Planner:
This section is not inclusive. Other duties are assigned as necessary to support team goals.
- Production Scheduling as required
- Ensure MRP runs in line with the defined cycle
- Check MRP action and error messages prior to schedule update
- Effectively communicate with Suppliers to ensure On Time In Full (OTIF) deliveries
- Escalate to management where deviations from delivery plan impacts on operations or cost
- Track all non-standard costs (I.e. customs, container, freight, etc).
- Measure & improve supplier delivery performance
- Ensure the material release plan is in line with the defined Inventory plan
- Gather the required Inventory, Freight cost and supplier delivery performance data to fulfil the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) requirements
- Work with suppliers and internal customer(s) to execute an optimal logistics plan
- Analyse current and future trends, data and reports
- Maintain material master data
- Maintenance of scheduling agreements
- Work with manager on scheduling, performing, and finalizing all physical inventories.
- Support any improvement activities and audits that may be required
- Ensure best cost solution is considered at all times whilst meeting the expected result
- Provide support in any number of areas of logistics including:
- Inbound freight planning
- Contract management
- Parts and material procurement
- Inventory control
- Outbound transportation
- Consider cost and service implications of logistic activity and wherever possible maximise efficiencies
- Participate in stock take activities (I.e. Cycle Counting, API, etc.)

Skills Preferred for the Materials Planner:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Internet Explorer, ERP System (i.e. SAP)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Possess numerical and analytical skills
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 2-3 years of materials planning knowledge
