What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Defense Attorney position at Adler Law Group?
The Adler Law Group is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Attorney to join our firm in handling insurance defense matters and general litigation in Connecticut. We are seeking a self-motivated skilled lawyer to join the team and be apart of the team. Your responsibilities will include managing insurance defense cases during throughout all phases of litigation. You will be responsible for answering complaints, performing legal research and drafting pleadings for all phases of litigation, responding to discovery, attending and defending depositions as necessary, negotiating settlements, and conducting jury or court trials, as necessary, all in conjunction with the managing attorney. You will work closely with experienced paralegals and solid communication skills are required for success.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of litigation experience
- Federal Court admission a plus
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion practice, pretrial conferences, mediations, and hearings
- Strong writing, organization, and case management skills
- Strong research skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Team-oriented, accountable, and self-motivated
- Attention to detail, prioritization skills, and effective communication are key attributes for success
· Experience with LexisNexis/Westlaw research required
· Experience with hourly billing/time keeping required
Our office also defends accused persons in criminal court throughout the state. Experience with criminal defense law is a plus but not required.
This is an in-office position in Hartford, Connecticut
Salary commensurate with experience, starting at $100,000 per year
Licensed and in good standing; able to practice in Connecticut State and Federal Court
