What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Laborer position at Adkins and Sons Transporting?
Job Summary Adkins and Sons is seeking a dedicated and skilled Construction Laborer to join our team in the transport, setup, and teardown of mobile homes/office units. We are based in Gates, NC but do work in surrounding areas of NC and VA including Chesapeake, Norfolk, Richmond, Suffolk, Ahoskie, Murfreesboro, etc. We work primarily on various construction sites setting up mobile office units and occasionally residential mobile homes. The ideal candidate should possess a valid US driver's license, be able to pass a background check as we do sometimes have to work on military bases or high security job sites, have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. This role requires physical stamina and candidates should have the physical ability to preform tasks such as climbing a ladder, carrying blocks, etc. Experience in the construction or modular building fields is a plus but not mandatory if you are willing to learn.
Duties
- Assist in the setup of mobile homes/offices including leveling, blocking, anchoring, strapping, and trim work at the mate lines of mulit-piece unit
- Assisting in the teardown and transportation prep of mobile home/offices
- Following safety protocol and maintaining a safe work environment when on construction sites
- Driving service truck to and from jobsites (This one is not mandatory but if you are comfortable driving the service truck and pulling small trailers, it is a plus)
- Support roofing activities, ensuring proper installation and safety measures
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to complete projects
Experience
- Previous experience in construction, transportation, or other related fields is preferred but not required
