The Bookkeeping Intern maintains records of financial transactions to account and post transactions. This is a hands-on role and may include consulting and financial analysis for our clients.
Position Type: Internship, Fall 2026
Location: San Antonio, and surrounding areas, travel may be required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED equivalent, some college
- Experience with QuickBooks, preferred
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills to include creating backups, restoring, and making change files to send back to clients
- Highly organized and communicative, as others will rely on the accuracy of your information to make key decisions
- Enjoys team environment
- Ability to work offsite as needed with multiple clients, some travel required within the greater San Antonio area
- Must have reliable transportation
Responsibilities:
- Represent firm to clients both on the phone and face to face
- Review clients’ financials and help develop solutions for clients
- Create journal entries to clean up client books
- Ability to work on multiple projects or client books
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers and other records
- Process payroll reporting in compliance with state and federal laws through quarterly and annual reports
- Ability to convert books into a QuickBooks set of books and create new companies in QuickBooks
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Other duties as needed and assigned
Expectations:
- Understanding overtime requirements
- This role will be off-site regularly for face-to-face client meetings
- Travel requirement < 15%
