Dynamic apparel company seeks a highly organized and detail-oriented Textile Research and Development Manager with 5-8 years of experience in fabric development, textile R&D, or material innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate, develop, and improve fabrics focusing on material, sustainability, and innovation (trend)
- Research market and latest trends to select appropriate fabrics, aligning with performance needs and design aesthetics
- Support the Director in the development and sourcing of fabrics
- Work closely with Design and Production teams to establish and facilitate fabrics and counter sourcing to completion
- Product Lifecycle Management (PLM): Manage initial PLM data entry
- Data & Archive Management: Develop and maintain seasonal tracking charts and organize filing systems for seasonal materials
- Fabric & Material Development
- Ensure materials align with cost targets, quality standards, and production timelines
- Oversee preproduction testing for all developed fabrics
Skills / Qualification:
- Ability to manage multiple seasons and deadlines simultaneously
- Should be well-versed in the latest trends in fashion and textiles and have a broad knowledge of fabrics.
- Strong problem-solving, creative thinking, highly organized, self-starter and collaboration skills
- Understanding of fabric construction, dyeing, finishing processes, and textile technology
- Proven ability to translate trends into commercially viable product concepts
- Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
