Senior Manager-Materials Innovation

High volume activewear company is looking for a Senior Manager – Material Innovation with 8-10 years’ experience in fabric development and or textile innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and evaluate emerging fabric technologies, performance finishes, yarn innovations, sustainable materials, and mill capabilities aligned with brand needs and market trends
• Help build the seasonal fabric roadmap and present clear recommendations to Design and Merchandising teams
• Source and develop fabrics that meet performance, aesthetic, cost, and sustainability goals
• Manage relationships with mills and suppliers, supporting negotiations and quality expectations
• Support seasonal kickoff and development meetings with fabric, color, and material presentations
• Oversee fabric testing and ensure materials meet brand standards
• Track industry trends and competitor materials to inform future opportunities
• Research and present market and material trends, technological advancements, and innovation opportunities to drive product differentiation
• Maintain and organize fabric libraries and technology catalog by category, ensuring accessibility and accuracy for internal teams

Qualifications:

• Must have strong knowledge of performance knits & wovens, stretch technologies, and sustainable materials
• Excellent communication, organization, and supplier management skills
• Strong technical knowledge of fiber, yarn, fabric construction and performance finishes
• Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple product categories and seasonal calendars with precision
