Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laborer/Entry Level Welder to join our dynamic fabrication and construction team. Responsibilities
- Assist with construction site activities, including material handling, site cleanup, and equipment setup
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) under supervision to develop welding proficiency
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and shop drawings to support fabrication tasks
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and schematics to measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal components accurately
- Operate fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and pipe threading tools following safety standards
- Support rigging, lifting operations with cranes or forklifts, and basic assembly of metal structures or ductwork
- Follow all safety protocols aligned with ASME codes & standards and AWS (American Welding Society) guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Prior construction site experience or exposure to mechanical or metal fabrication environments is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, and gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and mechanical schematics accurately
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, shop math, and basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations
- Mechanical knowledge related to pipe threading, sheet metal fabrication, ductwork installation, and assembly processes
- Experience operating forklifts or other heavy machinery is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions carefully while maintaining safety standards
- Willingness to learn new skills in welding techniques such as plasma cutting or press brake operation in accordance with industry standards
