Job Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring the performance of customer and internal KPI. This role champions improvements using analysis and implements corrections and improvements using quality tools such as Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones, root cause analysis etc. They will develop inspection plans to assist the inspection department. The Quality Engineer will interface with program customers and program management.

- Is an integral contributor to quality of design and craftsmanship during development phases.
- Works with the quality control and production personnel to drive the continuous improvement process.
- Monitors and analyzes customer satisfaction KPIs.
- Monitors and analyzes internal data such as nonconformance and corrective actions.
- Interfaces with the customer on program quality issues.
- Improves and problem solves using quality tools such as Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones, root cause analysis etc.
- Creates quality improvement plans.
- Creates inspection plans.
- Reviews and approves engineering documents.
- Reviews and approves purchasing and planning documents.
- Assist with audits.
- Participates in MRB and CCB.
- Submits nonconformance documents to customers.
- Assists with audits to company guidelines.
- Identifies and understands customer requirements.
- Assists with supplier problems, provides problem solving and resolutions.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Programming, Computer Science or related field
- At least three years’ experience within the quality environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office® programs, Office, and with MRP systems. Advanced Excel skills
- Strong trouble shooting skills and communication skills.
- Advanced Spreadsheet building and Microsoft Office Skills.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications and other related literature is necessary.
- Proficient with general quality systems and with the following tools: Process mapping, SPC, FMEA, Six Sigma, Kaizens, A3s, fishbones.
- Extended or irregular hours may be required.
- ASQ Quality Engineer Certificate desired
- Direction is provided for assignments in terms of desired outcome (goals), timing and budget. Work is reviewed or measured in terms of meeting organizational objectives and schedules.
- Has no direct reports, however, the Quality Engineer is expected to lead improvement and corrective action events and provide guidance to inspection staff.
- Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
