Shop/Field Service Technician

We are a full service manufacturer and distributor for adhesives and packaging equipment in the Pacific Northwest. We are a small family owned business looking at add a shop/service technician. We have 7 employees and only 3 in our office most days. It's a very relaxed/casual environment and we are looking for someone who would fit in with our team. You will be more than a cog in a system and feel valued for the work you do. We are currently growing and needing to find someone who can learn new systems but also willing to grow into managing as time goes on.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Basic knowledge of the electrical and mechanical aspects of machinery found in factories

· Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record which meets employer's requirements* Communicate effectively by phone or in person.

· Availability to travel both in the US and International required. Pass a pre-employment criminal background check. Once trained, this position will turn into a management position.

Successful candidates can usually answer yes to the following questions:

· Can you change your car's oil?

· Can you use a meter to check continuity and amp draw?

· Can you follow printed instructions and component parts illustrations such as those found in service manuals?

· Can you work with computer programs?

· Can you work without constant interruptions from your cell phone?

JOB DUTIES:

· Work with existing customers to help them maintain their equipment and to train their maintenance personnel in our shop and at the customers plant.

· Repair and install packaging machinery

· Drive company vehicle

Shop duties will include but not limited to:

· Repair and rebuild customer equipment

· Manage day to day shop operations

· Schedule in-plant service calls

· Overseeing troubleshooting

· Scheduling repair and rebuilds both in shop and in-plants
