What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at Adept Process Services?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Assist the mechanic in maintenance and repairs
• Equipment set-up, materials layout and preparing equipment and materials for the work task
• Shop maintenance; cleaning equipment and work spaces
• Operation of a company vehicle to obtain parts and materials from vendor locations
• Keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools
• Maintaining the compound grounds
• General house keeping of all spaces
• Operating various power tools. Operating forklifts
• Assist with Paint and Preservation
• Other duties as assigned by government officials, the Navy and APS corporate
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); successful completion of an appropriate entry
level training program One (1) year of experience in the repair and maintenance of a variety of mechanical
equipment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to obtain DBIDS access card to military installation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The
employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance
and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving
mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid
conditions (non-weather); work in high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The
noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
