Key Responsibilities of Director of Nursing (DON):
- Plan, organize, and direct overall nursing department operations
- Provide administrative and functional supervision over nursing personnel
- Lead by example and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Liaise with residents, families, and support departments to plan for resident needs
- Ensure compliance with state laws, regulations, and long-term care guidelines
- Oversee state reporting and implement plans of correction
- Uphold company policies including compliance and harassment procedures
- Maintain integrity and professionalism in all aspects of the role
Qualifications for Director of Nursing (DON):
- Current RN license in Nebraska
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a DON in a long-term care setting
- 1 year of supervisory experience in nursing management
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Knowledge of long-term care regulations, practices, and procedures
