What You’ll Do
The Non-Certified Medical Assistant (MA) provides professional care through the application of clinical skills and processes to assigned patients. This individual provides direct care and works collaboratively with other members of the care team to achieve optimal patient care. This incumbent has access to confidential patient information, provides direct patient care, and functions clinically under the direct supervision of the physician. If working in a Scribe role this individual enters information into the Electronic Medical Record or Chart at the direction of a physician or licensed independent practitioner. The Scribe does not and may not act independently but documents the physician's or licensed independent practitioner's dictation and/or activities. This incumbent also reports to the practice manager or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must successfully complete all required clinical skills evaluations in alignment with AMG requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- Must obtain a nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification with one of the nationally recognized organizations listed below within 12 months of hire as a condition of continued employment.
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- American Allied Health (AAH)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
