North Central Fabrication- Estimator
Summary:
The Estimator will perform quantity takeoff, review bid documents, generate proposals, and collaborate with project management to ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction to an active project.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Review of project specific documents including plans and specifications
- Perform quantity based “take off” of structural and miscellaneous architectural metals
- Assign labor costs to material estimates
- Solicit and compare vendor quotes
- Generate Pre-Bid Requests for Information
- Attend Pre-Bid meetings, if required
- Communicate and coordinate with Estimating team
- Coordinate with Project Management team at job turnover
- Adhere to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned
North Central Fabrication- Estimator
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
- Associate’s degree – Construction, Engineering, Drafting, Project Management, or applicable work experience
- Ability to read blueprints
- Detail oriented
- Experience using a PC (Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, Vista by Viewpoint a plus)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Construction experience a plus
