Adena Structural’s Concrete Division is seeking a skilled Project Manager/Estimator to support the development and delivery of commercial concrete projects. Estimating
- This is a unique hybrid position that combines the analytical challenge of estimating with the hands-on leadership of project management
- Develop accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals for commercial concrete projects in a timely manner.
- Complete clear and detailed material, equipment, and labor take-offs for concrete, rebar, and formwork.
- Analyze plans, specifications, bid documents, and addenda to determine scope and cost impacts.
- Organize subcontractor and supplier quotations, evaluate scope alignment, negotiate pricing, and issue properly documented purchase orders or subcontract agreements.
- Maintain unit pricing, production rates, and cost databases.
- Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and construction sequencing considerations.
- Review job sites when necessary to gather information for estimating and project planning.
- Operate company estimating software to develop estimates and bids
Project Management
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, and pre-construction planning upon project award.
- Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work is planned efficiently.
- Attend pre-construction meetings, site visits, and client coordination meetings.
- Prepare and process RFIs, submittals, scope clarifications, and change orders.
- Maintain professional communication and relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Desired qualifications/skills:
- 5 years concrete construction experience required, with emphasis on estimating and/or project management.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, technical specifications, and structural drawings.
- Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, material requirements, and cost impacts.
- Experience with Bluebeam, or similar industry software preferred.
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be detail oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
