Duties
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during acute episodes.
- Deliver specialized counseling services including grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with case management teams to coordinate patient care plans, discharge planning, and follow-up services.
- Engage in clinical research activities and data collection efforts to support continuous improvement of therapeutic interventions.
Experience
- Proven experience in psychotherapy or clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings, including hospital experience preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder or developmental delays.
- Strong background in crisis management, social work principles, and behavioral health interventions across diverse populations.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and medical documentation standards.
- Experience delivering telehealth services utilizing secure platforms for remote patient care.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology and its integration into mental health treatment plans is a plus.
