Lumber Sales Leader – Build & Scale a New Division (Adelphia Metals)
Adelphia Metals is launching a lumber distribution division, and we are looking for a proven lumber sales professional to help build it from the ground up.
This is not a typical sales role. This is an opportunity to take your industry knowledge, relationships, and instincts and turn them into a scalable, high-growth business inside an established national platform.
The Opportunity
We are a high-volume, relationship-driven distributor with a strong reputation in steel. We understand how to win in commodity markets—buy right, move volume, manage logistics, and take care of customers better than anyone else.
Now we’re applying that same model to lumber.
We need someone who:
- Knows the lumber market inside and out
- Already has relationships with mills, wholesalers, and customers
- Understands pricing, cycles, supply constraints, and buying strategies
- Can help us go from zero to meaningful scale quickly
What You’ll Do
- Develop and grow a lumber book of business (truckload volume, B2B sales)
- Build relationships with:
- Lumber mills and suppliers
- Brokers and reloads
- End users (industrial, construction, manufacturing, packaging, etc.)
- Source and sell products such as:
- Dimensional lumber
- Hardwood (ex: dunnage, blocking, mats)
- Specialty or industrial lumber products
- Understand and execute:
- Buy-side strategy (when to buy, how much, from who)
- Sell-side pricing (margin optimization volume movement)
- Coordinate with internal teams on:
- Freight/logistics
- Credit
- Order execution
- Help shape the strategy, structure, and growth plan for the division
Who We’re Looking For
You are not learning the lumber business—you already know it.
- 5 years in lumber sales or trading
- Strong existing relationships with:
- Mills / sawmills
- Distributors / brokers
- End customers
- Deep understanding of:
- Market cycles and pricing behavior
- Truckload sales and logistics
- Product specs and applications
- Highly competitive and driven by performance and income
- Entrepreneurial mindset—you want to build something, not just maintain a book

Compensation

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
