Adelphi is seeking a Substitute School Social Worker to provide full-time substitute coverage within a school facuility in Oakland County, Michigan. The ideal candidate will support students with developmental and behavioral challenges through functional assessments, behavior support plans, and collaboration with school staff. Job Quick Facts• Reference #: BD-1100-03• Location: Oakland County, Michigan• Facility Type: School• Coverage Type: On-Site• Job Type: Contract• Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday• Start Date: February 16, 2026• Compensation: $40Requirements• Valid Michigan LMSW license with full or temporary School Social Work approval• Experience conducting Functional Assessments and developing Behavior Intervention/Support Plans• Knowledge of community resources for individuals with developmental challenges• Ability to assess barriers to student progress and apply effective interventions• Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, families, and agencies• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities preferred• Proficient in documentation and recordkeeping• Must reside within a 45-minute commute to ensure reliable on-site coverage• On-site availability required; remote work not permittedResponsibilities• Conduct Functional Assessments incorporating multiple data sources, including formal and informal observation of behaviors that interfere with learning.• Develop Behavior Support Plans based on positive behavioral supports, utilizing ethical, proactive, and person-centered approaches.• Develop methods to track the effectiveness of behavior support plans through behavioral data analysis and revise plans as needed.• Provide training and modeling to classroom staff to support effective implementation of behavior support plans and instructional strategies.• Promote student self-advocacy and independence by encouraging individuals to identify their needs and preferences.• Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.• Serve as a member of the school’s Crisis Team.• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
