Job Quick Facts• ID: BD-1192-01• Profession: Maternal Health Services• Specialty: Doula / Maternal Health Care Specialist• Facility Type: Early Head Start Home-Based Programs• Location: Kansas City, MO • Job Type: Contract• Hours: Approx. 15 hrs/week (60 hrs/month; may fluctuate seasonally)• Rate: $25-30/hrRequirements• Certified/Certificate Doula or Associate’s degree in a health-related field• Experience providing doula or maternal health support services• Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards• Must provide clear criminal background check and TB screening (federal grant requirement)• Ability to travel to home-based program locations across the MARC network• Strong communication, documentation, and family-engagement skills• Familiarity with community maternal health resources preferredResponsibilities• Provide consultation, coordination of services, and maternal health support for Tier 1 & 2 Early Head Start home-based programs• Maintain a thorough understanding of Head Start Performance Standards related to prenatal, postpartum, and family support services• Deliver maternal health education sessions and early parenting workshops, including topics such as safe sleep, diapering, newborn care routines, soothing techniques, breastfeeding support, and postpartum recovery• Participate in triage to identify family needs and ensure timely referrals to medical, mental-health, and social-service providers• Conduct 2-week postpartum home visits to assess maternal and infant well-being, bonding, feeding, healing, and overall adjustment• Perform ongoing check-ins to monitor wellness and reinforce individualized care plans• Establish partnerships with maternal-health agencies and safety-net clinics to strengthen access and continuity of care• Track maternal health engagement by collecting baseline and post-intervention data• Document all home visits, wellness assessments, referrals, and training activities in ChildPlus• Support the Health Manager with the American Heart Association Postpartum Systems of Care Initiative• Participate in MARC Head Start Health Services Advisory Committee Meetings• Attend monthly meetings with the Health Manager and Health Coordinator to review needs, evaluate barriers, and strengthen service delivery• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of maternal and family health
