Seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Hematology/Oncology physician for locum tenens coverage in Las Cruces, NM. This role provides combined inpatient and outpatient clinical coverage plus call support on a supplemental basis, beginning ASAP and continuing on an ongoing schedule.
Schedule and Coverage
- Regular: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (5 days/week)
- Call: Nights and weekends; beeper coverage with a 1:2 call ratio and 20-minute response expectation
- Coverage dates: Aug 31; Sep 8, 21, 28; Oct 5, 19, 26; Nov 2, 16, 23, 30; Dec 21, 28
Clinical Responsibilities
- Manage an average daily census of ~17 adult patients (1-hour new patient visits; 20-minute follow-ups)
- Perform rounding, handle approximately 2 phone consults per day, and manage minimal ED consults related to chemotherapy patients
- Share weekday night call duties and respond to RN clinical questions
- Participate in weekly tumor boards and collaborate with radiation oncology, pharmacy, and multidisciplinary support staff

- Location: COC-accredited Cancer Center in Las Cruces, NM (zip 88011)
- Department: 18 chemotherapy infusion suites
- EMR: Mosaiq
- Support team: RNs (5), MAs (1), PA/NP (1), and a pharmacist
- Specialty backup: Radiation Oncology
Requirements and Benefits
