Join a busy pediatric otolaryngology team in Newberg, Oregon, providing both outpatient and inpatient care. This locum tenens opportunity starts Oct 1, 2026 and is ongoing while the organization conducts a long-term permanent search. The role combines clinic, surgery, inpatient consults and beeper call coverage — with travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided by the agency.
Schedule and call
- Clinic: Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri — 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Surgical center: Thu — 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Nightly beeper call: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. (response 15–30 minutes)
- Weekend beeper call: 24-hour coverage from 8:00 a.m. Saturday to 8:00 a.m. Monday
- Call type: beeper/mobile app for ED and established patient calls
Clinical scope and volume
- Average daily patient volume: about 10 patients per day
- Provide comprehensive pediatric ENT care including clinic visits, inpatient consultations, follow-ups, and operative cases
- Required procedural skills: general otolaryngology, surgical and endoscopic procedures, rigid bronchoscopy, laryngoscopy, rhinoplasty, complex head & neck and general head & neck surgery
- Preferred additional skills: septal procedures, sinus surgery, and tracheotomy
- Will perform NICU airway evaluations as needed
Facility and support
- Location: Newberg, OR 97132
- EMR: Epic (proficiency required)
- Support staff typically includes 2 RNs, 2–3 MAs, 2 PA/NPs, and 3 office staff
- Hospital privileges are required (temporary privileges are not available); candidate must be willing to obtain privileges at Providence Newberg Medical Center (call only) and Providence St. Vincent (clinic and call)
Credentials and requirements
- Board certified in Pediatric Otolaryngology (BC)
- Active Oregon medical license required (DEA required)
- BLS certification required
- Comfortable with NICU airway evaluation
- Agency covers travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality pediatric ENT care across clinic, surgical center, and inpatient settings
- Respond to beeper calls per the stated response time and manage ED/established patient issues via mobile app when on call
- Document all patient encounters thoroughly in Epic
