- Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics
- Admissions: Yes (via ED physicians)
- Phone Consults: As needed within emergency department
- Case Mix: Broad emergency medicine presentations across full acuity spectrum
- EMR System: Epic
- Office Equipment Available: Standard ED setup
- Specialty Backup Available: 30 MD coverage daily
- Support Staff Available: 18 NPPAs per day, MDs, RNs, ED staff
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered
- Emergency medicine clinical procedures appropriate to APP scope of practice
- Evaluation and stabilization of patients presenting with emergent or urgent conditions
- Licenses: Active Mississippi State License
- Board:
- Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified through AANP or ANCC (FNP)
- Physician Assistant – Certified through NCCPA
- DEA: Active DEA with Controlled Substance Permit (CSPA)
- Certifications: ACLS, PALS, and BLS required
- Experience: Prior emergency medicine experience preferred
- Other Qualifications: Must maintain 40 CME credits, case logs, and supervising protocol, EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Provide comprehensive emergency care to patients across all acuity levels
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical emergencies
- Perform procedures within the approved scope of practice
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and initiate treatment plans
- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and coordination of care
- Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, safety protocols, and compliance standards
