- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Current, active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in mental health, crisis intervention, or correctional/forensic settings.
- Strong understanding of DSM-5, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and trauma-informed care.
- Ability to work effectively within a secure facility and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and diagnostic interviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for incarcerated individuals with mental health needs.
- Provide individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based modalities.
- Deliver crisis intervention, suicide prevention assessments, and stabilization services as needed.
- Monitor and evaluate treatment progress, documenting all clinical activities in compliance with facility and state standards. Case Management & Coordination
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, correctional officers, and other interdisciplinary team members.
- Coordinate referrals for specialized mental health services or outside resources as appropriate.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and mental health rounds.
- Support inmates with reentry planning, connecting them to community resources, housing, and ongoing mental health care. Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential inmate clinical records.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing standards, correctional regulations, HIPAA, and PREA guidelines.
- Contribute to facility audits, quality improvement initiatives, and policy development. Education & Support
- Provide psychoeducation to inmates on mental health symptoms, coping skills, substance use, and relapse prevention.
- Offer consultation and training to custody and facility staff on managing inmates with mental health needs.
- Promote a trauma-informed, rehabilitative environment within the correctional system.
