Adecco Permanent Recruitment is hiring a Territory Sales Representative for a growing foodservice distribution company serving restaurants, hospitality groups, institutions, and commercial foodservice operators throughout Maine. This position plays a critical role in driving territory growth through a combination of new business development, account management, and relationship-based selling. The ideal candidate will bring strong sales and customer relationship skills, a hunter mentality, and the ability to build long-term partnerships with restaurant and foodservice customers throughout the Bangor, Augusta, and Lewiston-Auburn markets.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and grow an established portfolio of foodservice accounts while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities throughout the assigned territory through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold outreach activities.
• Conduct regular in-person customer visits and provide product recommendations, market insights, and consultative support to customers.
• Develop and execute territory growth strategies focused on increasing market penetration and expanding customer share.
• Collaborate closely with customer service, operations, purchasing, finance, and other internal teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition, product expansion initiatives, and account development activities.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity, pipeline updates, and opportunity tracking within CRM systems.
• Monitor competitive activity, market trends, and customer needs to identify opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.
• Support customer issue resolution efforts and assist with account receivable collection activities when necessary.
• Represent the company professionally throughout the territory while serving as a trusted advisor to customers and industry partners.
Qualifications:
• Two or more years of successful outside sales, account management, business development, or customer-facing sales experience.
• Proven ability to develop new business opportunities while managing and growing existing customer relationships.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage a large geographic territory, and prioritize daily activities effectively.
• Experience utilizing CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, field-based sales environment with significant customer interaction.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience within foodservice distribution, hospitality, food and beverage, produce, specialty foods, or related industries.
• Experience selling products or services to restaurants, hospitality groups, or foodservice operators.
• Background in hospitality, restaurant operations, beverage sales, foodservice sales, or related customer-facing industries.
• Bilingual Spanish and English language skills.
• Experience working in a highly consultative sales environment focused on relationship building and customer retention.
Compensation & Benefits:
• $60,000 base salary.
• Uncapped commission plan.
• 3% commission on new business during the first 12 months.
• Quarterly bonus opportunity based on sales volume and team profitability.
